A Better Guggenheim is a collective – open to all staff, past and present, to participate in whatever ways they feel comfortable. Our goal is to create a space built on trust, through which we can end the museum’s deep culture of fear and create a work environment where we all, especially our BIPOC colleagues, feel safe, supported, and respected.
The @abetterguggenheim Instagram account is amplifying stories of systemic racism and other toxic experiences at the museum. Share your story to spark dialogue for institutional change.
We are committed to protecting the anonymity of submitters, and to ensuring the consent of those individuals who are mentioned in these stories. As such, submissions must be first-hand accounts, or explicit permission to share must have been granted by the individual involved. We will also share resources, updates, and feedback as this community grows.
All stories will be shared anonymously unless a submitter indicates they would like to be identified. If you would like to share multiple, separate stories, please submit them one at a time in this form. Stories will not be linked unless at the submitter’s request.
Please email us at abetterguggenheim@gmail.com if for any reason you need to contact us.
